Lender: Stephanie Toups

Customer Since: 2015

Initially, when I began this process I wanted to deal with a bank that was local, yet had all the amenities that a national bank would offer. Being local was important because they had to know the community they are serving and its needs…that’s what I call “Small Business Friendly".

After considerable research First American was clearly a top choice. Once I met with their Commercial Loan officers I knew it would be a perfect fit. They could tell I had a passion as well as a good idea…they wanted to help me realize my dream.

I was told by others that the process of starting a business would be daunting and complicated. Add on to that renovating a 130-year old building and converting it into the restaurant of our dreams. One would think financing such a thing would be a nightmare of paperwork, invoices, receipts, audits, etc. First American was quite the opposite. They made everything clear, organized and easy. My contact, Stephanie Toups, was always available and incredibly helpful at every instance.

Between my home and the restaurant there are two branches within half a mile from each…I’d say that’s convenient. Also, there are a few branches in the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area as well. I find myself in those cities a lot and it helps when my local bank is ready to serve me there too. Since we have started this business relationship all the folks at First American have done whatever they could to help me develop my business and build my dream. We are very blessed to have First American as our bank.
